About me

My first camera was a cheap, no-name film camera that jammed more often than it worked. How frustrating, to be constantly thwarted when, at age 12, all I wanted to do was take pictures of New York City's trees and zoo animals. All I ever got out of it was one roll of developed photos, which I still keep for the fond memories and their enthusiastic composition.

I didn't pick up a camera again until I was old enough to attend concerts at clubs. For the next seven years I went to show after show. In the beginning, I had to stow my Olympus digital camera into the venue by hook or by crook. Then I discovered the photo pass and the photo pit and the versatility of a Canon DSLR in manual mode.

Though photographing music is still one of my favorite ways to spend an evening, I love shooting events, architecture and landscapes. If you'd like me to shoot a concert, event, architecture, landscape, or anything else that comes to mind, I'm always looking for something new to photograph. Just get in touch and we can work out the details.

On occasion, I'm still known to take pictures of trees and zoo animals. But I've gotten much better at it, and I'm improving all the time.

In addition to my photographic pursuits, I'm adept at string words together. So if you want coverage of the writerly variety (maybe in addition to the image kind?), you should definitely get in touch. Over the years I've worked with many online/print publications and companies. They include This Is Fake DIY, Out, Prefix Magazine, Out Traveler, Gigwise, and Film Society at Lincoln Center for NYFF 2011.

I live and work in New York City, but will never turn down the opportunity to travel.
